The Western Cape has seen a 12.8% increase in the murder rate over the past 2013/14 financial year. Attempted murder in the Western Cape increased by 2.5%, with a third of the total being gang-related. These were some of the latest stats revealed by provincial police commissioner Arno Lamoer yesterday. It’s believed that Western Cape police will release monthly crime stats.
