As vaccine rollouts begin in South Africa, many businesses are still reeling from last year’s harsh lockdown regulations. Some have barely survived, others have not. For corporate South Africa to truly return to normal, most of the population will need to be vaccinated. From March to April 2020, the hard lockdown had a devastating impact on trade and the economy, with South Africa’s GDP shrinking more than 7% from the prior year, recording levels close to 2012.
