Passionate Pitso Pays The Price!

Last Friday saw an intense Cairo Derby take place between the two footballing giants of Egypt, Al Ahly and Zamalek. Given the importance and intensity of the rivalry between the two capital based sides, the match progressed from start to finish rather smoothly, except for a few minor incidents which has now seen former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane and his Al Ahly team issued fines by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA); Al Ahly came out victorious during the matchup, thrashing Zamalek 5-3. Although the fines may not seem that important, they were issued to Pitso and his coaching staff for entering the field of play while celebrating certain goals during the clash. Speaking on the SL Podcast’s ‘The Carwash,’ former Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana star, Teko Modise (who of course played under coach Pitso) has come out and said “If Pitso goes a season without a fine, it was a bad season.” This fine is a testimony to the passion that coach Pitso has, the drive and the will to succeed. Football comes first for Pitso and he is able to draw his team and coaching staff into his own ideologies of the game, which evidently proves to be rather successful. The fact of the matter is, Pitso doesn’t care about the fine, he cares about winning and doing well.
