City drops charges against councillor

The Speaker of the City of Cape Town Alderman Dirk Smit has rejected the complaint of the DA against Al Jama-ah Councillor Ganief Hendricks for reporting the Open Mosque to council authorities. Hendricks remarks landed him in hot water at the City as media quoted him as a City representative. He called for officials to investigate the building, saying its founder had not applied to change the use of the building from a warehouse to a mosque. But even though charfes of misconduct were dropped, his attorney Advocate Zehir Omar still feels there are questions that the City needs to answer Advocate Zahir Omar joins us online….
