We know that single mothers in South Africa face an uphill battle in trying to get maintenance from their children’s fathers. But hopefully, the law will be a lot tougher now, after the Maintenance Amendment Bill was tabled on Wednesday. Some of the provisions of the Amendment Bill include preventing maintenance defaulters from continuing to receive credit while they owe maintenance.To give more insight as to what the bill entails, is Mthunzi Mhaga, the spokesperson for the Department of Justice and Correctional Services
