The Gautrain Management Agency was thrown into turmoil in 2014 when it discovered that it was a victim of a cyber-attack. Fortunately, the GMA’s controls ensured damage was minimal, but there were plenty of learnings from the incident. Here, Henry Denner, the Gautrain Management Agency’s Information Security Officer, talks through cyber security in general, the 2014 attack, its impact on the GMA, and some of the major learnings from it.
