Recently, police minister Bheki Cele revealed that 10 000 women were raped in the same time period. Mob justice appears to be on the rise in South Africa, as people lose faith in the criminal justice system.

Three women, three different crimes, three different sets of socio-economic circumstances, but one common thread runs through their cases – a police service that failed to protect them.
