Brandpunt gesels met Adjunk Uitvoerende Hoof van FEDSAS Juane vd Merwe "In hierdie gesprek wil ons die aandag vestig op die BELA-wetsontwerp en die ernstige bekommernisse wat dit vir ouers en gemeenskappe in Suid-Afrika inhou. Die wetsontwerp, met 56 klousules, beoog om die Skolewet te wysig en het 'n aansienlike impak op die opvoeding van kinders. Ons fokus veral op klousules wat ouers se mag en inspraak oor hul kinders se opvoeding beperk. Dit sluit in die bepalinge rakende toelatingsbeleide, taalbeleide, tuisonderrig, die verpligting van Graad R, die verkoop van alkohol vir fondsinsameling, en die mag van die Minister om regulasies te maak. Ons pleit vir ouers se reg om die finale sê te hê oor hul kinders se opvoeding
