Women's Day Special with Kate Woods

Loading player...
Over the past year, our national women's teams have been thriving on the international stage. Most notably in football, cricket and netball. Many of these teams are amateur, without full sponsors and relying on athletes to self-fund their participation. However, their performances have sparked discussions around SA and a growth in girls' sports.

In this week's special for Women's Day, Alex and Tim chat with Kate Woods, a former South African national women's hockey player. She played 181 tests for SA, went to 3 Olympic Games and is currently the Senior Brand Director adidas SA.

The panel discusses the growth of girls' sports in SA, the shifting landscape thanks to SuperSport Schools, the importance of role models and what needs to be done to capitalise on the growing interest in female sports.

Finally, Kate has a go at our Women's Day Special Quiz!
