Following the elections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo next week, President Felix Tshisekedi will confront formidable challenges to his authority.

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, political campaigns are underway ahead of the general elections in December.

More than 20 candidates are vying for the top spot this time around.

The country experienced its first peaceful handover of power when the current president, Felix Tshisekedi, took office in 2019.

Milka spoke to the nbc's Ndishishii Hamufungu, who is in the DRC covering the elections.
