In 1994 front row hardman Johan Le Roux made his debut for the Springboks but after just three Tests in the famous green and gold jersey his career was over. All thanks to a controversial moment of madness in which Johan bit All Blacks captain Sean Fitzpatrick’s ear. Le Roux was known for his toughness and scrummaging power which was a great asset to the Boks in his short but impactful career. In this interview he shares his experiences from his debut against England to the difficulties of touring New Zealand to that incredible ear-biting moment and the aftermath where he felt letdown by Springbok management for their lack of support.
