Chris Badenhorst was one of the speediest wingers in South African rugby in the early to middle 90s. Unfortunately, he faced tough competition for a Springbok place from the likes of James Small, Chester Williams, Pieter Hendriks and Jacques Olivier. Nevertheless, Badenhorst made his presence felt though and ran out for the Springboks against Argentina in 1994 for the first time. Chris celebrated his Bok debut with two tries that day at Ellis Park. Sadly, he would only feature one more time, also at Ellis Park, before the Rugby World Cup against Western Samoa in 1995. In this candid discussion, Badenhorst looks back fondly at the special memories from his time in rugby. He shares his thoughts on the honour of representing his adopted country; he hails originally from Namibia and offers thoughtful advice for talented youngsters who also dream of playing for the Springboks, just like he did.
