Ricardo Loubscher burst onto the South African rugby scene in the 1990s as an exciting fullback. Opportunities were limited but eventually he realised a lifelong dream by making his Springbok Test debut against Wales in 2002. Sadly, injury struck, and he had to wait almost exactly a year for his next Test match. Even so Ricardo persevered and took his place in the 2003 Rugby World Cup squad where he featured against Uruguay and Georgia. In this fascinating discussion, Loubscher shares his story of courage and perseverance. He gives us a superb insight into the highs and lows of what was not the easiest period in South African rugby.
