Financial coach Simonne Gnessen asks clients to imagine what money would be like if it was a person you had invited around for tea. ‘For most people it’s the Devil, it’s a woman in a Tweed suit who’s pointing a finger.’

In this episode of Planning People New Model Adviser editor Will Robins sat down with three people involved in the Initiative for Financial Wellbeing, an exciting new, planner-led project that looks set to shake up the financial planning profession. Gathered in Citywire’s Vauxhall studio were Chris Budd, chairman of South West planning firm, Ovation Finance and founder of the Initiative for Financial Wellbeing, Simonne Gnessen, founder of Wise Monkey Financial Coaching, and Tom Morris, director and chartered financial planner also at Ovation.

We discuss the ideas behind financial wellbeing and find out what convinced Budd the time was right to launch an organisation to bring together training, debate and events under a single banner.
