The death of Lazarus #4
--:--
Pastor Bongani Moyo continues his teaching on the death of Lazarus from John 11:28-44, drawing three key lessons:
The Death of Lazarus as the Spirit of Death/Stagnation: He likens Lazarus' death to a spirit of stagnation in life. When reflecting on your life, you may find yourself in the same position you were 10 years ago, unable to progress.
Lazarus in the Closed Tomb as the Spirit of Rejection: The image of Lazarus sealed in the tomb represents the spirit of rejection. Just as Lazarus was left to decay, people may reject your situation, making you feel as though your life or circumstances "stink."
Lazarus was also bound, symbolizing a life tied up and restricted: Though he wasn’t truly dead but asleep, he was bound. This speaks to the areas in your life that are tied up, held back from progress. But in the name of Jesus, it’s time to break free from that bondage and come out of those chains!
