The Pretoria local earned the UFC Middleweight title after a split-decision win against Sean Strickland at UFC 297 at the start of 2024. Now, almost a year later, Du Plessis and Strickland are set to face off again at UFC 312. The much-anticipated rematch is scheduled for February 8 (February 9 in South Africa) in Australia.
