In Conversation with Chantelle Knox - Celebrating the International Day of Plant Health: A Greener Future Starts Indoors

At The Plant Corner, we’re passionate about transforming
spaces with greenery, and while our focus is not conservation or
biodiversity, we wholeheartedly support the mission of the
International Day of Plant Health (IDPH), celebrated globally on
May 12th. This day emphasizes the vital role plants play in our
ecosystem—contributing 80% of the food we eat and 98% of
the oxygen we breathe—while raising awareness of the threats
posed by pests, diseases, and unsustainable agricultural
practices. By prioritizing plant health, we contribute to broader
goals such as food security, environmental sustainability, and
economic resilience.
Our commitment lies in sustainable interior plantscaping, using
recycled and upcycled materials to reduce environmental
impact while elevating indoor spaces aesthetically and
functionally. Healthy, well-designed green spaces not only boost
well-being and productivity but also subtly reinforce the
importance of nurturing plant life. On this International Day of
Plant Health, we encourage individuals and businesses to
explore the benefits of greening their environments while being
mindful of the health and longevity of the plants that surround
us. When we protect plants, we truly protect lives.
