Melody Miya wears many hats and it's not surprising that he's quickly become a household name through his work in the media industry as a witty and outspoken radio and television personality. Dubbed as one of the country's influential youngsters, he has elevated the status of what it means to be young, passionate, and still make a difference in the lives of many through his work. Melody holds a BA Degree in Sports Communication and an Honours Degree in Sports Management from the University of Johannesburg – this would be where the foundation of where his love for media, speaking and social entrepreneurship would be groomed. While studying, Melody also worked on the university's radio station, UJFM which allowed him to spread his wings and become the person he is today.
With over eight years broadcast experience, Melody's work at UJFM helped him navigate the industry, which opened up the opportunity to work for one of the country's biggest radio stations, 947, as a result of his unwavering love and dedication. Along with calling 947 his new home,
Melody has also joined SABC 1's current affairs show, Daily Thetha. Despite working for two amazing broadcasters, Melody continued to work on community based initiatives as a social entrepreneur at Conquer MIH and as a speaker for various commercial and non-profit organisations. He currently holds a massive record of MCing well over 700 events in the past three years and these have impacted several demographics from school children, young adults, to the elderly through his work.
