Today on Political Agenda, we’re unpacking the latest
developments in the ongoing parliamentary inquiry into
alleged political interference and criminal infiltration in
South Africa’s justice system. Police Minister Senzo
Mchunu, who is currently on special leave, appeared
before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee to explain his
controversial decision to disband the Political Killings
Task Team (PKTT) — a move that sparked outrage,
particularly from KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner
Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
Mchunu maintains that he acted within the law and says
he was advised to withdraw the disbandment letter after
realising the gravity of the situation.
