The City of Mbombela has announced that fireworks may only be displayed at designated stadiums, sports grounds, and parks during the festive season. Fireworks are not allowed in any other areas unless special permission is obtained from the Office of the Chief Fire Officer.

Parents, guardians, and adults are urged to closely supervise children when using fireworks to prevent injuries. Failure to comply with this notice may result in a fine of up to R5 000, imprisonment of up to three months, or both.

This notice is issued by Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services, under Chief Fire Officer Petrus Mthiyane.
