Yolanda Ncokotwana is a seasoned television and film professional with extensive experience across live productions, documentaries, scripted content, and international broadcasting. Her career began at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), where she rose through the ranks to become a Commissioning Editor, leading content strategies for flagship programmes and major global sporting events including the FIFA World Cup, Cricket World Cup, and the Rio Olympic Games. She has acquired and managed international content, overseen high-impact production slates, and championed African storytelling on global platforms. Currently serving at the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) as a Production and Development Manager, and previously as Head and Acting Head of Industry Development, Yolanda has overseen funding, training, co-productions, and development initiatives, particularly within the non-fiction genre. She has consulted on and supported award-winning films, executive produced six Netflix feature films, served on international film juries, and lectured at the University of South Africa. Yolanda holds a Film and Production degree from Tshwane University of Technology and is completing a degree in Creative Writing at UNISA, driven by a mission to transform the industry through inclusive representation and sustainable platforms for African narratives.
