Born S’phamandla Mhlongo in rural KwaZulu-Natal, MarazA has carved out a career that extends far beyond traditional hip hop. Inspired by legends such as Zola, ProVerb and the late Pro Kid, MarazA built his early reputation through competitive platforms like Jam Alley Versus and Channel O MC Africa both of which he won.
His creative footprint expanded into composing music for television, adverts and film including theme songs for SABC 1’s Geleza Nathi, BET’s Black Tax, and Mzansi Magic’s Champions (“Ke Nako Yaka”).
Now with releases like Village In The Trap II (2025) and singles such as Spilli and Abangcono, MarazA continues to balance lyricism, production, and visual storytelling under his growing production company positioning himself as not just a rapper, but a multidisciplinary creative force.
