The Madlanga Commission is no longer willing to entertain Feroz Khan’s excuse that he cannot appear before the inquiry due to his repeated hospitalisations, and orders that he be examined by an independent doctor. The now ex-senior SAPS Crime Intelligence official was first expected to give evidence in June, but was shot and wounded just days before in Johannesburg. Failing to appear at both the commission and his concurrent SAPS disciplinary hearings in recent weeks, Khan was fired from the police on Wednesday night for the latter reason. Meanwhile, SA Airlink has pulled its plans to cap off Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry with another stadium flyover on home soil this Saturday at Soweto’s FNB Stadium, as the Civil Aviation Authority probes its pilots’ stunt at Cape Town’s DHL Stadium last Saturday.
