Millennial Profile: Law student Layla Kimmie

Layla Kimmie, a South African who grew up in Brunei in South east Asia attending a British international school, is currently in her final year of LLB with the intention of a Master's degree in international human rights law and public interest litigation. She works closely with the world federation of United Nations associations, having completed an internship and being a secretary for them in New York City. She will be doing the same in India next month. "I believe that privilege comes with responsibility and so as a person I believe it is my responsibility to stand for those who cannot stand for themselves, and to ensure that a platform is given to those without a voice. I believe we have to be unapologetic about standing up for the oppressed people and believe a rigorous and fearless approach is needed."
