Phumelela delivers H1 headline earnings growth of 24%

Phumelela share holders received a welcome boost today. The company's announced that shareholders will receive a 42 cent interim payout. That's 24% higher than the previous year. Phumela delivered headline earnings growth of 23% to 83.1 million rand and a 4% rise in net income to just over 808 million rand, due to an improved performance by its betting operations. Phumela's share price closed the day 1.7% higher.
