The SA Police Service used the wrong population figures to work out crime ratios for the 2012/2013 crime statistics. Thats the view of the Institute for Security Studies. The crime stats were released by the National Police minister Nathi Mthethwa in recent months under a cloud of suspicion from the media and civil society. Have they really cooked the findings?
