The City of Cape Town announce that the first batch of Volunteer Auxiliary Law Enforcement Officers is officially ‘hit the beat’ yesterday. According to the city is a triumph for the administration, as the service is the first of its kind in the country.In October 2012, the City Council approved the establishment of a Volunteer Auxiliary Law Enforcement service to boost operational capacity and secure more feet on the ground without a massive budgetary impact.
