The has been a recent spike of taxi violence incidents in the province. On Monday, a taxi driver was gunned down on Govan Mbeki Road in Philippi at around 1pm. Just 24 hours later, another driver was chased down and run off the same street in Khayelitsha, opposite Kwezi Park, before being shot and killed. At about 6pm the same day, a taxi driver was found dead in Halt Road, Elsies River, after a drive-by shooting. Are these isolated incidents or is there a connection somwhere. We ask MEC for Transport and Public Works Robin Carlisle
