The City of Cape Town held a Budget debate last week which came into effect on the 1st of June. This budget debate was an opportunity for political parties to engage with the Mayor of Cape Town on her budget for this year. The ANC in the Western Cape accused the City Council of recanting of their promises of spending 67% of their budget on the upliftment of poor communities.
