Before the break, we spoke to the deputy mayor in the City of Cape Town, Ian Neilson about the budget. In case you did not catch that interview. The City of Cape Town held a Budget debate last week which came into effect on the 1st of June. This budget debate was an opportunity for political parties to engage with the Mayor of Cape Town on her budget for this year. The ANC in the Western Cape accused the City Council of recanting of their promises of spending 67% of their budget on the upliftment of poor communities. We chat now to the political committee member of the ANC in the City Council and a former Chief Whip, Peter Gabriel on the line.....
