The University of Cape Town's admission policy have been making waves. The Council of UCT has passed the new admissions policy in spite of the objections by the SRC. The new policy takes not only into account race, but also the applicant's home language, whether the family is receiving a social grant and the student's high school. This new considerations will come into effect in the 2016 intake.
