A call for private schools to not increase their fees in 2021

Will parents cope if school fees are increased in 2021? Will schools cope if fees are not increased in 2021? It's a difficult conversation but the National Alliance of Independent Schools Association (Naisa) have opened that can of worms and they are making a call for South Africa's fee paying public schools not to increase fees for the next year, or to keep any hikes low.

They are not the only ones who are making this call, The Independent School Association of SA (Isasa) is also pushing for this.

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga recently turned down an appeal from Naisa to establish a R2 billion relief fund for struggling private schools that are facing closure. Mpho Mashita and DJ Complexion had a conversation with Mark van der Burg who is the Limpopo Chairman of the National Alliance of Independent Schools Association.
