Business Intelligence Sessional Meeting

--:--
For decades actuaries have played an important role in the design and interpretation of data. However, after exponential growth in computing power and volumes of data, this landscape has changed immensely. Innovative exploitation of exploding data is quickly gaining traction in several industries and leadership programs. There is a competitive edge waiting to be discovered from in-house data and limitless external sources of data. Planning, sourcing, warehousing and analysing data, and implementing knowledge from data has become a multidisciplinary process and actuaries are being expected to give advice on data opportunities and data mining strategies.

In light of the above, members from the newly formed Business Intelligence Member Forum will discuss customer segmentation and the adapting role of actuaries in this changing business environment. The presenters are FC de Vos and Francois Marais.
