Last chance to experience Gateway's World Of Illusions

Gateway’s wildly popular World of Illusions is making one final splash, with cheerful tropical prints and the most inviting sparkling pool scene you’ve ever seen! It’s the final production of this interactive attraction and it’s not to be missed! If you haven’t already seen the previous installations, now is the time to put reality on pause and boggle your mind with a visit to the World of Illusions Summer Edition.

This immersive, picture-perfect attraction has added wonder and mystery to countless social media profiles. Everyone’s invited to make the most of its summer send-off.

All six of the illusions have been completely redone, although the optical trickery remains the same.

1. Underwater Room

Summer’s profile popping blockbuster will have you chilling underwater in a pool dappled with dancing light that looks straight out of one of those old chlorine ads. Take a deep breath and get ready to shine like a subaqua star.

2. Infinity room

With bright colourful lights and infinite reflections, this is summer selfie overload.

3. Ames Room

Careful where you choose to stand in this candy-coloured scene. Big becomes small and small towers over the vertically challenged.

4. Bottomless pit

Energy roars in this vortex where one step over the edge could have you whisked away.

5. Upside down room

Embracing Umhlanga’s summer, the living room has taken on a whimsical tropical air. And, oh yes, you walk on the ceiling. It’s not us, it’s you.

6. Beuchet chair

Created by Jesse Beuchet in 1963, this illusion is an example of confounded ambiguity. You need to see that pink chair for the illusion to be revealed.
