Gateway Theatre Of Shopping partners in flood relief drive

--:--
Reaching out to communities in need, Gateway Theatre of Shopping is partnering with the Umhlanga Women’s Association to provide a base for a flood relief drive.

“We are appealing for donations of blankets, warm clothes, towels, school items, canned food and funds,” says the Chair of Umhlanga Women’s Association., Praneetha Aniruth.
“We aim to get people back on their feet, to work and school, as quickly as possible. And working with other women, who are often the heart of the home, we believe it’s possible,” says Aniruth.

“Pre-loved items in good condition will go a long way to help those who have lost everything,” she says. Other critical items are baby formula, nappies, non-perishable food as well as dog and cat food.

The old Wavepark site at Gateway will be the collection and distribution point for all contributions. The site is accessible directly from Parkade A (at the sliding gate that enters the Wavepark) for donations and will be manned between 8 am and 6 pm daily, starting from Saturday 23 April.
“We are grateful that we have had limited disruptions at Gateway,” says Gateway Theatre of Shopping Marketing Manager, Michelle Shelley.

“But our hearts go out to the Gateway community, including staff, shoppers, tenants, and service providers who have been severely affected by the floods as well as the wider KZN province who have endured such devastation.”

“We invite people to donate pre-loved items, new items, funds, and volunteer to assist through the Umhlanga Women’s Association,” says Shelley.
