Women control just 27% of global wealth and a meagre 11% of the wealth in Africa despite climbing the ladder for decades. Why is this?

One of the main reasons put forward by Dr Thomas Brennan, founder and CEO of Franc, is that investing has historically been seen as a man’s domain and that given that over 70% of financial advisors are men, it’s unsurprising that women have not been well catered for.

Franc is an award-winning app that helps people save, invest and learn more about investing. Franc assesses risk in a way that is not based on gender, removing the bias against female investors, Dr Brennan says.
