Parents and guardians will have to pay more for their children’s education as the country’s cost of living crisis persists. This was brought to light by Statistics South Africa when it released the consumer inflation figures on Wednesday. Consumer inflation increased again in March to 7.1%, with food prices continuing to climb while consumers feel the pinch. This month’s data also included education fees, which are surveyed in March every year. Overall, fees increased by 5.1% this year, which was higher than last year’s recorded increase.
