Handover Of Loadshedding From Eskom To City Power

A couple of weeks ago, City Power took control of load shedding switch from Eskom in Joburg. Although in the beginning things seemingly went smoothly, there has been a growing number of glitches with this exercise. Kgomotso Meso invited Professor Sampson Mamphweli, Head of the Department of Science & Innovation at the South African National Energy Development Institute, to help us understand the fundamental differences between load shedding by City Power and that by Eskom. Professor also shared insights on how the switch was handed over.
