This week's Angler News KZN Fishing Report covers the latest fishing activity from the KZN coastline, we get into what we can expect from the spring tides, the full moon, gravitational pulls, and the warm water delaying the Sardine Run. Despite a slight decrease from last week’s catches, there have been notable catches from rock and surf fishing, including Shad, Garrick, and Bronze bream. Offshore fishing reports sizeable Couta catches up north and a focus on bottom fishing off Durban. Bass fishing in surrounding Durban dams has slowed, but trout fishing is picking up with the weather looking favorable for bending rods before the trout river season closes at the end of May.
In a nutshell…
Offshore: The offshore fishing has been phenomenal! The only issue or hurdle has been the big surf, making launching a clenching affair.
Rock and Surf : The rock and surf fishing has seen a mix of edibles mainly. The inedibles caught have been with the smaller pockets of bait fish or up north.
Freshwater: The rains and cold have made some dams muddy and unfishable but the general situation on the freshwater front has been one of good fishing despite the warm weather.
