ANC withdraws from no confidence motion in Brink

The African National Congress (ANC) says it will be temporarily withdrawing its motion of no confidence in City of Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink. This follows a high court challenge by Brink, challenging the lawfulness of the motion. The vote on Brink’s future as the capital city’s number one resident was due to take place on Friday. The ANC in Tshwane says it will be withdrawing the motion until all legal matters have been addressed.
