Govt hosts National Water and Sanitation Indaba on water security & provision

President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for an urgent national water plan during the water and sanitation indaba. He emphasised the importance of addressing South Africa's water crisis. Ramaphosa highlighted issues of infrastructure vandalism, leakages, and poor management as key factors causing water shortages. The two-day indaba began on Thursday, hosting leaders from around the country including ministers, MPs, mayors, delegates from the South African Local Government Association (Salga), business, officials and water research academics.
