Eleven classrooms destroyed after fire guts Riverlea High School

Gauteng police are investigating a case of arson after a fire broke out at Riverlea High School in Johannesburg. It’s understood the fire started in an unused classroom and spread, destroying an entire block of classrooms. Four of the destroyed classrooms

were being used by Grade 8 learners and the boys’ toilet block was also damaged. The fire damaged 11 classrooms affecting around 230 learners. Phemelo speaks to Deputy SGB Chairperson at Riverlea High School, Keagan Everson.
