The Health Department says all US government funding for HIV and TB projects in South Africa will end by 30 September. After major cuts earlier this year, a R2.82-billion shortfall remains — and no replacement funds have been secured. “Without such replacement funds, we won’t be able to sustain our HIV programme,” warns health official Nicholas Crisp.
