As the world prepares to commemorate International Human Rights Day, Phemelo discusses why Africa and South Africa in particular must push for apartheid to be explicitly included in the UN’s draft Crimes Against Humanity Treaty. The discussion highlights ongoing gaps in justice at home, where apartheid-era cases are only now moving forward, including the historic COSAS Four ruling that cleared the way for the first-ever prosecution of apartheid as a crime, set for 2026. Phemelo is joined in studio by International Human Rights Lawyer, Wendy Isaac who highlights the importance of South Africa investigating and finalising crimes against humanity.
