Tensions are rising in Randfontein, where residents displaced by illegal miners say government has failed to keep its housing promises. Community leaders from the Sporong informal settlement confronted the Department of Human Settlements, demanding answers about delays in the relocation process. Hundreds fled the area after it was taken over by zama-zama miners, but residents say only about 40 houses have been allocated so far.
