Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has ordered an investigation into claims that former Health Department CFO Lerato Madyo received a payout to quietly leave her post. The corruption-accused official resigned in August 2024, but the DA alleges she walked away with a lucrative settlement and is now living under a different name in Limpopo. The department denies any “golden handshake,” saying her contract was simply terminated. Phemelo speaks to DA Gauteng Shadow MEC for Health Jack Bloom about the allegations.
