Gauteng Grade 1 and 8 applications open in August

Parents across Gauteng have less than two weeks to prepare for the opening of the 2027 online admissions system for Grade 1 and Grade 8. Applications open at 8am on 5 August 2026 and close at midnight on 4 September. Parents are urged to get their documents ready and remember that Grade R learners are not automatically placed in Grade 1 and must still apply online. Previous login details will also no longer be valid.
