Karlien spoke to John Ellis about their brand new album Voyage and what fans can expect from them next.
Originally known as Tree, Tree63 is an alternative CCM group from South Africa. Voyage is Tree63’s first new album in over a decade, a body of work that finds John Ellis delivering some of the strongest songwriting of his career.
Formed in Durban in 1997, Tree63 became one of South Africa’s most successful musical exports, scoring major hits including Treasure, Stumbling Stone and A Million Lights. Led by John Ellis, the band achieved international success with multiple US radio No.1s, Dove Award recognition and extensive global touring. Their new album Voyage, recorded in Cape Town with producer Dave Langemann and frontman, John Ellis, marks Tree63’s first album in a decade and reflects themes of endurance and rediscovery.
