Alcohol sales causing increase in COVID-19 infections

The alcohol industry has promised to set up a network of "community patrollers" to check up on outlets selling booze in the Eastern Cape following a big resurgence in coronavirus infections. Health Minister Zweli Mkhize visited the Eastern Cape this week, where he said the fight against Covid-19 was in the hands of the community and “where communities fail, the whole society fails”.
