September is Heritage month in South Africa, and today we’re bringing language and their relation to the economy into focus. In a country that has 12 official languages, it would seem ideal for all languages to be represented where economic opportunities are concerned. However, languages that are spoken by larger sections of the population may become the “languages of opportunity”, whereby the ability to speak them becomes necessary to prosper in our economy.
